I BELIEVE EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE
A THRIVING LIFE
MY NAME IS DARLINE ALVAREZ,
AND I AM A BILINGUAL (ENLIGH & SPANISH)
LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER AND THERAPIST.
I HELP ADULTS, TEENS, AND CHILDREN
WITH ANXIETY AND ADHD.
I am a bilingual English/Spanish Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in anxiety disorders. I have over ten years of experience working with people who suffer from ADHD and feelings of anxiety. I believe that in today’s world, children and adults, are under extreme stress which interferes with academics, personal relationships and self-esteem. I work with children, as well as adults, to help guide them through stressful moments in life.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Social Work from Florida International University in 2005 and 2007 respectively. I have been licensed as a clinical social worker in the state of Florida since 2015 and in the state of Georgia since 2017.
I am currently employed as a school social worker with the Cobb County Public Schools district in Georgia, and prior with Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida.
My areas of expertise are working with individuals with ADHD, Anxiety, and overall life stressors.
When working with clients, I consider myself to be just one participant in a team of support systems (family, school, community). My clients possess unique strengths and I enjoy working with them to help effect change.
I use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, skill-building, mindfulness, and meditation. With children, I work using their language of preference, play therapy.
My thought is that the mind and body are one. I work holistically to improve your life. One session may just be psychotherapy where as others may include mindfulness and meditation. I also am specialized in hypnotherapy. I believe that everyone can have a thriving life.
I also continue to attend professional trainings and workshops that are relevant to areas of my professional practice.

This equips children with skills for life; promote healthy habits and life-long wellbeing. These techniques are clinically-proven approaches to anxiety management.
Our award-winning 7-step technique improves emotional wellbeing and self-confidence and helps children feel calm and focused.
Each stage of the Relax Kids’ seven-step program is based on clinically-proven approaches to anxiety management
Relax Kids’ strategies mimic clinically-proven anger management and mitigation treatments such as therapeutic exercise and yoga, breathing exercises, and mindfulness exercises. These can be used as anger management tools, ways to help at moments of meltdown, or methods to make time-outs constructive rather than punitive.
Many children between the ages of 5 and 16 suffer from an emotional disorder such as anxiety or depression. Tame the stress beasts Relax Kids classes help children bust stress with breathing and stretching exercises, peer/self -massage and deep relaxation. Our calming classes help support children’s mental and emotional well-being and give them tools to cope with life’s stresses.
Slow down the jitters of ADHD Relax Kids classes’ help children manage their hyperactivity and tension with simple relaxation techniques such as breathing, muscle relaxations and visualizations. Our focused classes help children manage their energy and emotions. The therapeutic tools Relax Kids offers may help children to combat the sadness, stress, and upheaval of bereavement.
Relax Kids’ simple relaxation exercises can help children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders to relax, learn about emotions, and develop relationships with their parents and peers. Children with ASD may also experience sensory issues. The challenges these children face may lead to social isolation, low self-esteem and other social/emotional issues. Relax Kids’ adaptability and flexible approaches to the seven steps means that the program can be easily tailored to suit a particular child’s needs.
